Our Cause
In honor of Lou Gherig, who is a Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and a Phi Delt Alumni at Columbia University, the Phi Delta National Fraternity partnered with LiveLikeLou to raise millions of dollars to support Lou Gehrig’s Disease, ALS. Our Phi Delt Chapter at Cal Poly continues to support ALS through numerous events and funding to raise money for the ALS Community
Events
Each quarter, we have an annual philanthropy event aimed at fundraising for the ALS Community. This fall quarter, we hosted our first Serves for Service Pickleball tournament with teams consisting of members from various Cal Poly Sororities and other clubs/organizations which turned out to be a terrific event.
Iron Phi
In 2010, the Phi Delta Theta National Fraternity created the Iron Phi Program in which members from their respective chapters complete an athletic endeavor and raise at least $1000 in efforts to support the ALS Community. Recently, brother Mark Robinson became the first Iron Phi in our chapter! He committed himself to hitting 1 golf ball for every dollar raised and he raised over $1000 and hitting 650 golf balls!
